You may be wondering about saturated fats, which are found in foods like... steak, cheese, and butter. For many years, saturated fats were thought to be the cause of clogged arteries and heart disease. But rates of these diseases have stayed high even as Americans started eating less saturated fat and more carbohydrates. It's now thought saturated fat is not the cause of these problems, and it's okay to eat it in moderation. So, think of saturated fat as in between a good fat and a bad fat - it shouldn't be the base of your diet, but it's okay to eat it in moderation.
